Does Your Puppy Seem to Have Two Modes: Asleep and Chaos?

If your evenings swing between a sleeping puppy and a tiny tornado, nothing is wrong with you or your puppy. Young puppies simply need more guidance and far more rest than most people expect.

  • Land-shark biting

Sharp teeth on hands, sleeves, and ankles - usually right when the house gets busy.

  • Sudden zoomies

Full-speed laps around the living room that seem to come out of nowhere.

  • Can't settle

Your puppy is clearly tired but keeps popping back up instead of resting.

  • Crate struggles

Whining, barking, or protest at the crate door, so nobody gets a break.

  • Jumping and pulling

Greetings turn into launches, and walks turn into a tug of war.

  • Overexcitement

Guests, kids, or other dogs flip a switch you can't seem to flip back.

None of this makes your puppy bad. It usually means your puppy is under-rested and unsure what to do instead. That's exactly what this workshop is for.

The workshop path

Calm → Rest → Communication

Three connected pieces that turn a chaotic week into a workable routine.

You'll leave this workshop understanding how to achieve three essential behaviors in your home with your puppy.

Calm

A puppy who can pause instead of escalate.

  • Practice Stationary Calm - a simple, repeatable way for your puppy to hold still and settle beside you.
  • Use structure so calm becomes the default, not a lucky accident.
  • Set up your home and routine so your puppy has fewer chances to spiral.

Rest

Most puppy chaos is a sleep problem in disguise.

  • Build a healthy crate and rest rhythm your whole household can keep.
  • Spot the overtired signs: biting, zoomies, inability to settle, and general pestering.
  • Learn how much downtime a young puppy actually needs between activity.

Communication

Clear signals your puppy can actually follow.

  • Try one beginner Sidekick exercise for connection and follow-through.
  • Mark and reward the moments you want more of.
  • Trade repeating yourself for information your puppy understands.

Real Words From Real ICA Clients

Five-star reviews from puppy families who started exactly where you are now.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Inclined Canine Academy. After starting with another trainer who immediately pressured us into an expensive board-and-train program because our Shiba Inu puppy was supposedly "going to be a biter," we left feeling discouraged and worried that something was wrong with our dog.The team at Inclined Canine Academy was the complete opposite. From the beginning, they took the time to understand our puppy, reassured us that much of what we were experiencing was simply a Shiba being a Shiba, and never made us feel judged for choosing a breed that's known for being stubborn, independent, and mouthy. Instead of fear-based predictions, they provided practical guidance, realistic expectations, and a clear training plan. One recommendation in particular made an incredible difference: they suggested we try a different training collar, and the results were truly night and day. Leash training and daily walks became dramatically easier almost immediately, and both our puppy and my wife and I became much more confident and comfortable as a result. What impressed us most was their experience, professionalism, and ability to meet both dogs and owners where they are. They never talked down to us, never made us feel like we were failing, and always focused on helping us build a better relationship with our puppy. If you have a dog and are looking for knowledgeable, supportive trainers who genuinely care about your success, we highly recommend Inclined Canine Academy. We are thrilled with the progress our puppy has made and are so grateful for their help.
